Quadriga delivers Oscar winners in record time - 05-03-2013

Guests staying in hotels equipped with Quadriga’s Sensiq and Genesis communication platforms, incorporating some 230,000 guest rooms worldwide, are already enjoying top Oscar-winning movie ‘ARGO‘ (Warner Bros. Pictures), weeks before the planned DVD release. Popular choice ’LES MISERABLES‘ (Universal Pictures) is just a few weeks away from being released by Quadriga, before the DVD release dates are even announced.

According to Quadriga data, MGM’s hugely successful ‘Skyfall‘, which was released into the majority of the Quadriga estate in January 2013, is currently the No. 1 most popular choice of on-demand movie. Argo ranks close at No. 2, with sales expected to escalate now, following its triumph at the Oscars this week.

According to Paul Wilson, Quadriga’s Partnership and Product Director, “Securing a strong early-release schedule is one way we can help sustain and grow revenues for our hotel customers. By working closely with our studio partners and ensuring we can deliver these blockbuster movies into our estate as quickly as possible, means hotels can capitalise on the huge interest generated by high profile events such as the Oscars.“

The other main award winning movies, ‘LIFE OF PI‘ (Fox 2000 Pictures), ‘LINCOLN‘(DreamWorks SKG & Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation) and ‘DJANGO UNCHAINED‘ (The Weinstein Company & Columbia Pictures) are either already running in Quadriga hotels in the United States, due to advanced cinema releases, or scheduled for release across Europe in both HD and SD formats over the coming weeks.

Quadriga’s new Personal Media Network™ and the PMN™ mobile app, which was recently voted the winner of HTNG‘s Most Innovative Technology 2012, enables guests to select and control movies from their mobile device, for play on the in-room TV, and ultimately anywhere in the hotel, which further encourages purchase.
