28th April 2008: Today Quadriga announces for the year ended 31st March 2008 another year of substantial financial and operational growth in excess of targets. Group revenue, EBITDA and cash flow targets have been exceeded, installed Genesis rooms have increased 45% year on year and Quadriga now provides services to approximately 410,000 hotel rooms in over 50 countries. As the European market leader in the provision of integrated broadband, internet and entertainment services for business and leisure guests staying in hotels, Quadriga is well placed to continue substantially growing its base of digital IP rooms across Europe and the Middle East.
Ian Crabb, Quadriga’s CEO, comments “Quadriga’s ambition is to consistently meet the current and future requirements of our hotel customers and their guests. Substantial progress has been made since 2004 with Quadriga’s Genesis installed base growing from 24,000 rooms to over 175,000 rooms while at the same time Quadriga achieved all its financial targets in each of the last 3 financial years. Going forwards our priority is to continue to provide our hotel customers with the best one stop shop solution for their needs, including the provision of wired and wireless broadband, internet and entertainment services, LCDs, service and support and equipment financing. We have exciting plans in place to further enhance our products in 2008 and 2009 and our customer’s requirements sit at the centre of these.”
As a result of sustained investment in new products and services, Quadriga has seen hoteliers’ acceptance of Genesis increase substantially. Today, Quadriga has in excess of 175,000 fully digital Genesis rooms installed across Europe and the Middle East comprising 100,000 digital coax rooms and 75,000 cat 5 rooms and a further 22,000 in the pipeline. As a result, Quadriga has become the world leader in cat 5 networks and has maintained its position as the European market leader in the provision of fully integrated wired and wireless broadband, internet and entertainment services.
In 2004, Quadriga put in place ambitious plans to significantly enhance the range of products and services offered to hotels and their guests. This included the introduction in 2005 of the highly successful Genesis over coax product providing hotels with a very cost effective integrated wired and wireless broadband, internet and entertainment solution. In 2007 Quadriga introduced Digital TV and enhanced customisation capabilities further strengthening the guest experience and the hoteliers’ ability to communicate directly with the guest in their room. Additional features and services will be released later in 2008 to enhance both the guest and hotel offer and include significant developments to the broadband product, a greater range of content and new customisation tools.
As well as being designed to enhance the guest’s stay and hence optimise customer satisfaction and loyalty, Genesis is also optimised to increase room revenues for hotels. Customer data shows that Genesis generates substantially greater revenue than traditional analogue pay TV systems as a result of the full integration of wired and wireless broadband, internet and entertainment services. In recent hotel evaluations, Genesis generated substantially higher guest revenues than its competitors.
