London, April 3rd. Quadriga, the number 1 provider in Europe and the Middle East of digital-IP based entertainment and internet services for the hotel industry, announces today that it is enhancing its state-of-the-art Genesis system with more flexible guest payment options for its High Speed Internet service. As the demands of the business guest grow Quadriga is responding by offering guests the option of payment by credit card for wireless Internet access as well as ‘seamless’ wired to wireless roaming in the hotel, whereby guests can switch instantaneously between a fixed connection to the Internet from their room and a wireless connection in public areas, without having to re-access, log on and pay a second time.
Since its launch, the uptake of Genesis has been significant, with a 58% growth in hotel signings between 2005 and 2006. This rapid growth in demand has been enabled by the introduction, in 2005, of Genesis ‘on any network’ (coax, cat 5 and cat 6), as well as the introduction of an array of new and exciting service features in late 2006. These included the launch of Digital TV, providing access to an unlimited number of superb quality TV channels, a more flexible and powerful range of Internet services including the ability of the guest to roam in the hotel, moving seamlessly between a Wifi and fixed line internet connection and a new internet service ‘Web Promotions’ allowing hotels to promote their hotel services directly to guests in their rooms. This announcement today is a further demonstration of Quadriga’s ongoing focus on delivering real benefits to its hotel customers through capitalising on new advances in the digital and content arena.
Genesis is the only established and proven hotel entertainment solution to offer an integrated High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) capability, with 3 connectivity options - either wireless (Wifi) or with a fixed connection via the television (IOTV) or laptop. According to Quadriga, 67% of all Genesis hotel customers have chosen to take its HSIA solution, evidence of the hotel industry’s growing requirement for high speed access to the Internet, combined with the demand for an integrated entertainment and internet services solution. The essential high speed internet component of Quadriga’s Genesis solution is provided by SolutionInc a leader in internet provisioning, management and billing, experts who are similarly committed to ongoing product development and further enhancing the guest experience in hotels.
Myron Tataryn, Sales and Marketing Director at Quadriga comments “Internet services are a significant and growing revenue stream for our customers and being able to respond to guest’s changing needs is key to being successful in building further revenues. Providing the option for guests to pay by credit card for their Internet access is a win-win scenario in that it makes life easier for the guest and so will encourage greater use of the services and thus boost hotel revenues. With a swift and easy-to-use payment process and no more queuing at reception to get an Internet access code, guest satisfaction will be higher and hotel administration effort reduced. The advantages for the hotel guest will also extend to the hotel conference delegate as well as the walk-in visitor.“ Tataryn concludes “These new features represent a further step in the evolution of Genesis and with our partner SolutionInc, we will maintain our ongoing product investment and continue to introduce further exciting internet features allowing hotels to keep pace with advances in technology. As the market leader, now with over 100,000 Genesis hotel rooms installed across Europe and the Middle East, we are committed to providing our customers with even more choice, flexibility and confidence in their selection of Genesis as their future proof digital solution.”
